This two day course is designed for existing level 2/3 Forest School leaders wanting to add beach school to their existing knowledge

to give you the best possible foundation when leading activities from a marine environment. With core units in beach safety, conservation and group management it is ideal for teachers and Forest School practitioners or anyone looking to establish Beach School provision as well as those who are using the beach for field trips and activity days.

This two day course includes training on how to predict tidal movements, how to deal with lost children, how to create an outdoor classroom as well as learning about marine life and environmental considerations.

The training is best used in conjunction with the level 3 Certificate in Forest School programme leadership (QCF) or the Coastal and Countryside Walking Leader Award, although it is suitable for use independently and is recognised by insurance companies. Leaders should hold a valid first aid certificate before working independently with groups.

The course includes a minimum of 8hrs of home study and students will receive certification once they have completed the coursework requirements. The course accommodates students with varied degrees of previous knowledge as well as differing learning styles and abilities.
